Thank you!

There is a saying that starts, “It takes a village…”.  It’s been proven time and time again…especially out at the lake.  It is impossible for one person to do everything.  Individually, we are simply owners who live near each other but together we are the JLPOA.  On behalf of the JLPOA Board of Directors and all of the owners, I would like to formally recognize the following people and thank them for their contributions over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

For their exceptional work regarding the pumping of water from the extremely flooded area behind lot 107, I would like to thank and recognize the following: Chuck Hickson Sr., Chuck Hickson Jr., Brad Hueske, Steve Deiker, Glenn Deiker, Mike Linton, Dave Pogue, Bob Todd

Did You Know
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.  The holiday, which is observed every year on the last Monday of May, was formerly known as Decoration Day and originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the war. By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who died while in the military service.  It typically marks the start of the summer vacation season.

On Memorial Day, the flag of the United States is raised briskly to the top of the staff and then solemnly lowered to the half-staff position, where it remains only until noon. It is then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day.

The half-staff position remembers the more than one million men and women who gave their lives in service of their country. At noon, their memory is raised by the living, who resolve not to let their sacrifice be in vain, but to rise up in their stead and continue the fight for liberty and justice for all.

We’re Back!

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that after about four (4) weeks of fighting with IPOWER Support the “home page” of the JLPOA website is back!

The bad news is that we have lost our home page (blog) history due to a corruption. While IPOWER, the website hosting solution that we have been using for years, does have backup and restore provisions in place, sadly, their backup does not make provisions for blog pages and, as a result, the JLPOA blog history is lost.

Official IPOWER Support Correspondence:
I apologize for the inconvenience regarding the issue. Since the home page is a blog page and weebly blog is always accessed from the weebly server and we do not keep the backup of weebly blog on our server, unfortunately, it is not possible to restore. Therefore, I suggest you to please recreate the blog page once again.

You can refer link for the backup and restore policy. Please refer the mail clause User’s Responsibilities and sub-point “f” for restore policy.

If you have any further questions, please update the Support Console.

The rest of the website is and has been completely functional throughout the duration.

Unfortunately, we have uncovered a fairly large inadequacy with regard to this provider’s services, support and backup procedures. Frankly, it is absolutely unacceptable and it is not typical in the industry.

As such, I am currently looking at other options for the future JLPOA website. In the meantime I have recreated the home page (blog page) so you can expect regular updates throughout the Summer\Winter months.

I expect the changeover (to the new host) to take place late in 2015.  Until then, we will continue to use IPOWER.

See ya at the lake!

Please let me know if you have any questions.
