Lot Cleanup
The 2016 JLPOA Board understands that we have experienced extremely wet weather to date.  We’ve all been been having a hard time keeping up with the weeds.

We have refrained from sending out “Lot Cleanup Letters” thus far but, after Memorial Day weekend, the JLPOA Board will need to start sending out letters to those who have not taken care of their lots.  Please be mindful of your neighbors and get your lot cleaned up.

June 2016 Board Meeting

Fireworks – GoFundMe
Margaret Journey and Steve Journey Jr (Lots 82-83), our in-house fireworks experts, are reaching out to the larger JLPOA community to help with their funding this year due to liability costs associated with a business that they have formed.  As such, Margaret created a
GoFundMe page.  If you enjoy the fireworks and their art, please consider donating to their cause!  Donating is incredibly easy!  Simply click the following link – https://www.gofundme.com/jlpoa2016fireworks

Did You Know…
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.  The holiday, which is observed every year on the last Monday of May, originated as Decoration Day after the American Civil War in 1868, when the Grand Army of the Republic, an organization of Union veterans founded in Decatur, Illinois, established it as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers.  By the 20th century, competing Union and Confederate holiday traditions, celebrated on different days, had merged, and Memorial Day eventually extended to honor all Americans who died while in the military service.  It typically marks the start of the summer vacation season.

LHMS UPDATE 2016

Picture

Family, Friends and Neighbors,

Thank you so much for carrying on Lacy’s memory. She will always hold a special place in all our hearts.

This year eight students applied for the Lacy Hickson Memorial Scholarship in March and we are proud to announce that we awarded $20,000 in scholarship monies.  Scholarship awards went to the following students: Valerie Snyder, Alexis Gonzales, Kadin Kracke, Madison Shepherd, Connor Wood, Melissa Hawkins, Kyndra Konig, and Laura Walker.  And, as of 2016, scholarships have been awarded to fifty (50) students!

We thank you so much for your kindness and support; we certainly could not have done this with out all of you.  We cannot say that enough.

This year we have two horseshoe events planned, one on May 28th and the other on August 6th.  Also, the LHMS Annual Dinner will be September 24th at the JLPOA Clubhouse.

Have a blessed year and we hope you can come out and attend the events – it’s always a fun time.

God bless.

The Mosquito Authority

Picture

The Mosquito Authority will be out to treat the JLPOA for mosquitoes today and are offering private sprayings.  You do not have to be at home, and they will leave a door hanger to let you know your service is complete. Please use the tear-off card at the bottom to share their service with a neighbor or friend. In the event wind or rain delays the service they will do their best to keep you updated.

They’d also like to place a sign in your yard to help spread awareness about their service. Please don’t throw it away. They’ll come pick it up next time and re-use it.

If you have any questions please feel free to give them a call, or send them a separate e-mail with your name in the subject line so it will not missed.
