Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day, JLPOA!
Happy Independence Day!  As we head into the apex of the Summer of 2015, the JLPOA Board would like to remind you to be patient with and respectful of your neighbors.  The JLPOA will be packed with owners and guests of owners.  Please keep in mind that while we all love the lake, we each experience it differently.  It is our responsibility as owners of the greatest POA of all time to respect one another accordingly.

As a reminder, MRVs operators (regardless of age) in the JLPOA must adhere to the following:

  • Lot numbers must clearly be displayed on any MRV in the Village.
  • Normal MRV operating hours are from 9 AM to 9 PM.
  • Adult use ONLY after 9 PM with *lighted vehicles* (including clubhouse dances and activities).
  • The posted speed limit is 15 MPH.
  • Operation of MRV’s on greenbelts is prohibited.
  • Donuts, brake skidding, power sliding and other forms of reckless driving are prohibited.
  • MRV’s are to stop at all intersections, before proceeding.
  • MRV’s will yield right of way to all other vehicles and pedestrians. When approached from the rear by a car or truck, the MRV will pull over to the right and allow the approaching vehicle to pass.
  • Overloading any MRV is prohibited.
  • Passengers are to remain seated, with no body parts hanging out from the vehicle at any time.
  • No standing on the MRV while the vehicle is in motion.
  • Passenger Capacities: Golf Carts: Driver + 2 passengers front, 2 passengers rear.  ATV’s, Motorcycles, Minibikes: Per seat Design. Driver + 1 passenger Maximum.

Underage driving is a privilege.  Use it, do not abuse it.  Safety is of course our main concern, especially considering the coming weekend.  Please talk with your kids and guests prior to letting them operate your MRV.

Parking has always been an issue out at the lake.  As a reminder, every cul-de-sac and all of the roads in the JLPOA are fire lanes.  Parking anywhere in the cul-de-sac or on any of the JLPOA roads impedes emergency vehicles and is expressly prohibited by Colorado State law.  If you cannot fit your vehicle(s) on your lot(s), use the ‘overflow’ parking at the clubhouse.

Did You Know
During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain occurred on July 2, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence that had been proposed in June by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia declaring the United States independent from Great Britain.  After voting for independence, Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining this decision, which had been prepared by a Committee of Five, with Thomas Jefferson as its principal author. Congress debated and revised the wording of the Declaration, finally approving it on July 4.  Source: wikipedia.org

June 13th Dance: Kevin Beiland & The Roustabouts

Dennis and Heidi Jackson, your new JLPOA neighbors on Lots 89-90, have graciously booked Kevin Beiland & The Roustabouts, an amazing southern country rock band, on Saturday, June 13th 2015 at the Clubhouse.

Dennis and Heidi went through all of the proper channels and came out of their own pocket to bring this band to the lake.  As you can imagine, it was fairly expensive.  As such, donations are being accepted both at the board meeting and the night of the dance to help offset their costs.  Let’s show Dennis and Heidi how much we appreciate their efforts and welcome them into the JLPOA family!
