As we approach the 2023 boating season, the Board has been meeting a big challenge with the tumbleweeds that form on our boat ramp and the beach areas on both sides of the inlet. Because of most of the state being in drought cycle for the last few years, the tumbleweed problem has been massive. Due to the high winds and dry weather, larger amounts than usual have accumulated in front of our boat ramp and swim beach areas.
We have been working every week since the ice melted off to clean them out with a small group of volunteer homeowners. We continue to bring in different types of equipment to work the problem. The tumbleweeds extend well out past our shorelines which will make it very difficult to launch boats and /or jet skis. With the help of a few owners, we are continually working on the problem.
In my 36 years of owning property at Jackson Lake, I personally have never experienced anything like this before.
