It is the responsibility of the lot owners to ensure the waste from pets associated with their lots be picked up and disposed of in a sanitary manner and not left laying on the ground in public spaces. The board has recently received complaints of excessive amounts of dog feces being left in a few greenbelts and common areas throughout the community. We kindly ask that you please be mindful and respectful of your neighbors and our shared spaces by picking up after your pets. Due to the conditions that have resulted from some of these behaviors, the board is currently doing a policy review with the association lawyers to determine possible remedies including fines and assessing clean up costs back to individual owners in some cases.
The board would also like to remind you that you are also responsible for your pets’ actions when they are not on your property and with you in public spaces or common areas. It is your responsibility to always maintain control of your pets. At any time should you feel in danger or threatened by an animal or feel that a local law or statute has been violated by a pet owner, we encourage you to call the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office at (970)-867-2461 or dial 911 if it is an emergency.
